FAQs on KEH PORTRAITS
Session Types
What types of portrait sessions do you offer?
From Bridals/Engagements and High School Seniors to Family photography, we offer all types. The best thing to do is just ask :)
Do you photograph both in-studio and on location?
Yes, we can also bring our studio to you, although there needs to be adequate space for certain types of photography.
Can I combine different session types (e.g., senior + family)?
Simple answer - YES, absolutely. All of this will be discussed in the planning stages of your sessions(s), which is just as fun!
Preparation & Styling
What should I wear for my portrait session?
Honestly, this depends on the type of photoshoot that you desire. After the initial free planning session, you’ll have a pretty clear vision of what you’ll want to wear. We’ll work together on this. Every single one of our photo sessions is planned out all the way to clothing options (check out our portrait gallery for examples).
Do you offer styling or wardrobe guidance?
Absolutely, we also encourage you to bring your own styling companion (if you prefer)
Do you provide hair and makeup services or can you recommend someone?
If you desire and need this service, we will try to have someone available -or- recommend someone. However, due to the nature of “destination/location” photoshoots, we may be unable to make this happen for you.
In Studio or on Location
Where is your studio located?
We are located in Lancaster, SC just south of Charlotte, SC.
Do you travel for location shoots?
We do, and we can also bring our studio to you if you desire a studio type of shoot at your location.
Is there an extra fee for location shoots?
Yes, we have a $150 travel fee which covers up to 60 miles travel from our location in Lancaster, SC. If you are beyond 60 miles, then the fee is adjusted.
You may have noticed that some of our portraits our located on a beach (Charleston area), which is much more than 60 miles away. We’ve photographed as far West as Oklahoma as well as in NY and all the way down to Florida.
During the Photo Session
How long does a typical session last?
The length of the shoot really depends on the type of shoot, which is all worked out during the planning stages. Typically, a shoot will last between 90-120 minutes. Although, it could last as much as half a day. If you book a photo session with us, we can promise that you are our priority, and our business model is not to book more than one portrait session in a day.
Can I bring a friend or family member for support?
Yep! That’s a great idea, and we encourage it.
What if I feel awkward in front of the camera?
Want the truth? Most people feel awkward in front of the camera, but we will work with you to help you feel comfortable—it’s what we do :)
Can we include pets in the session?
Yes
Senior Portraits
When is the best time to schedule senior photos?
Now . . . . haha, we couldn’t resist saying that.
Honestly, anytime is good . . . but now is always better.
Can I include sports gear, instruments, or other props from my favorite things?
Yes, we encourage it!
Bridal & Engagement Photography
Do you photograph weddings?
We only offer Bridal and Engagement Photography. If we decide to photograph a wedding, it would most likely be limited to the Bride and Groom Preparation, ceremony, and Couple photographs following the ceremony. The best thing to do is ask.
Do you offer bridal portraits separate from the wedding day?
Yes
Can I bring my partner or bridal party to the shoot?
Sure, as long as they respect us as professional photographers and allow us to do our job.
After the Photo Session
How long until I receive my photos?
You will most likely be able to view a proofing gallery on the same day as your shoot (depending on the time of day your session finishes).
Do you offer retouching?
Yes, all of the photos you select will be retouched. The amount of included retouched photos
will be determined by the package that we put together as a team. With this, we always aim for quality over quantity.
What format do you deliver the final images?
Digital and/or print. The prints are outsourced to a professional print lab.
Can I order albums, canvases, or framed prints?
Absolutely, we highly encourage capturing your memories in print.
