Frequently Asked Questions:

FAQs

How far do you travel for location sessions?
Our location fee covers up to 60 miles of travel from our location in Lancaster, SC. Granted, if you are only a little bit past 60 miles, that is perfectly fine. Within South Carolina, this covers the Columbia region and surrounding areas such as Lexington, Gilbert, Irmo, etc. Within North Carolina, this covers the Charlotte region and surrounding areas. If you are well beyond our 60 mile destination fee, an adjustment will be made.

Do you have a photography studio where you photograph your clients?
Yes, we (Kendell and Evelyn Healy) have a “home” studio in Lancaster, South Carolina where you can have your photography sessions at. Visit our Studio Headshots page for more information. However, depending on where you are located, our location pricing is structured in a way that the location session is most likely more economical and convenient for you.

How much time do you need to set up and photograph?
Expect one hour of set-up time. The time we take to photograph is dependent upon how many people we are photographing. If we are scheduled to photograph 4 people over the course of an hour, we would spend a comfortable 15 minutes per person. However, If we are photographing 20 people over the course of two hours, we would spend about 5-6 minutes per person. Of course, there are other things that can affect the time, such as shooting across different backgrounds.

How many photographers can we expect on a location session?
Two — Kendell and Evelyn. Typically, Kendell will photograph while Evelyn analyzes the photos on screen as the photos are coming through. This ensures that we absolutely have taken the photograph that best represents you.

Can we view the shoot on a separate computer from a separate location while it is occurring?
Yes, we can set up a live photography viewing session where someone will be able to view the photos live, add comments, rate each photo and make selections virtually from a different location. This is typically reserved for commercial portrait/product sessions. If you would like this option, we can discuss this during your consult.

What if some people are not available the day of the photography session?

In the event that some of your team cannot be present during the initial location session, the option to send them to our home studio is available. However, depending on where you are located, our location pricing is structured in a way that the location session is most likely more economical.

When will the photos be available for viewing and selecting?
Within 1-2 days, the photos will be uploaded to a private gallery, and each person will be notified via email that their photos are ready to be viewed and selected. Once they make their selections, we will be notified to retouch those selections. After we are finished retouching, the final selections will be uploaded to a gallery and everyone will be notified via email.

Will you also photograph team/group photos in addition to the headshot?
Yes, we can photograph the whole team together or broken up in groups by departments. All location sessions include one complimentary group photograph.

What backgrounds do you offer?
Although we typically shoot on white or grey backgrounds, we can offer a range of solid colors, gradients, or even custom digital backgrounds tailored specifically to your business. White and grey backgrounds have the benefit of being the most consistent across a number of photos when shooting individuals.

What about group photos where new team members have been added?
We can composite team photos together, which allows you the freedom to switch around team members within group photos.

Can you match headshots we have taken previously?
We can work with photographers from other markets to match their images and provide any file type, format, or crop as is necessary to keep the consistency in the look and feel of your existing team headshots.
